Supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada have been urged to remain resolute and focused on retaining the party’s grip on Government House, Lafia, come 2027.
The Director-General of the London Boy Movement, a support group for the APC and the candidacy of Senator Wadada, Hon. Joseph Maiwada, made the assertion in a strong-worded statement on Sunday.
Speaking in a telephone conversation with our correspondent, Maiwada said only death could stop the senator from clinching the number one seat in Nasarawa State after the exit of the incumbent Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule.
He was reacting to insinuations surrounding the ambition of the senator.
According to him, “Records are there to speak. Thousands of those who truly know Senator Wadada know that in terms of distribution of dividends of democracy, Wadada will ordinarily top first position amongst politicians in Nasarawa State, and not just those who, for want of power, have turned to Father Christmas overnight.”
He described rumours of the senator’s likely substitution as baseless and of no substance.
“Engr. Abdullahi Sule did not just endorse the senator based on their relationship. The endorsement followed a track record of years of service to humanity, backed by political awareness and education of the masses,” he said.
“We are unshaken by any form of shenanigans parading in the guise of campaigns. The HEART Agenda of Senator Wadada is a clear governing policy document that surpasses whatever promises are being made by new entrant politicians,” Hon. Joseph added.
