Plateau State Labour Party has officially received Barr. Edward Pwajok into its fold by officially presenting him with a membership card.
The event which coincided with the commissioning of the party’s office in Kuru ‘A’ ward in Jos South LGA of the state was well attended by the party’s State Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Patrick Dakum and the State officials of the party.
Dr. Dakum in his speech described Kuru ‘A’ ward as the gateway to the presidency and that a wind of change is blowing all over Nigeria. According to him the focus of Labour party is people and not just projects as it is on the party’s logo.
He went further to use a biblical allusion of Nicodemus visiting Jesus in the night to say that there are ‘Nicodemuses’ in APC and PDP who are with Labour party in Plateau State. According to him, labour party permeates into all other political parties across the state.
While thanking the people for their support, he said the party is going to focus on the challenges that they are all going through and urged them to take the message to their various homes.
In his acceptance speech after the presentation of the membership card to him, Barr. Edward Pwajok described Peter Obi and Dr. Patrick Dakum as the change that is needed at the national and State respectively, adding that very soon APC and PDP will be empty.
He said sometimes back Labour Party was said to have no structure but today the people are the structure. He assured the party leadership of the highest number of votes from his ward.
According to him all Plateau tribes are in his ward and they are supporting Labour Party. “They are tired of the rubbish of the APC and it will have to give way when the people finally decided in favour of Peter Obi and Patrick Dakum” he added.
Barr. Pwajok also added that the party office to be commissioned was donated by ordinary people who were convinced on the capacity of the personalities in the party. He said, that shows that Labour Party has been accepted in his ward and therefore asked for working tools.
The Taroh lawyers Forum also used the occasion and presented a meritorious award of excellence to Barr. Edward Pwajok for being their voice while at the National Assembly.
Speaking for the Forum Barr. Timzing Ramnap narrated how Pwajok took up the issue of one of their people who was denied justice until Justice was done to him.
It could be recalled that Barr. Edward Pwajok, a former National Assembly Member who represented Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency and a former Commissioner for Justice in Plateau State recently defected to Labour Party which has further strengthen the Labour Party in the state.
High point of the event was the presentation of party’s membership card to him and commissioning of Labour Party Office in Kuru “A” ward.
