
The District Head of Wakama, Chief Adams Makka Nangba, has urged communities in his district to form vigilante groups in order to assist the police and other security agencies to promote peace in the area.
The District Head made the call in a meeting with Village Heads, Ward heads, ECDA, youths, women groups and the police in his palace.
He said that the importance of peace to human and societal development could not be overemphasized, hence the need of his call in that direction.
Makka- Nangba said that the meeting was aimed at discussing way forward on how to promote peace in the area.
He advised the people of the area to be security conscious at all times.
” I want to call on communities to form vigilante groups in order to assist the police and other security agencies to promote peace.
” As the importance of peace to human and societal development could not be overemphasized.
” Peace is priceless, non negotiable and it is the necessary requirement for the development of any society, he said.
The District Head urged the people of the area, particularly, the youth to embrace skills training programme organized for youths in Nassarawa Eggon LGA in order to become self reliance.
” And to contribute their quota to the development of the society,” he added.
Besides, he advised them and other people of the area to give their maximum support and cooperation to the new Aren Akun, Dr James Angbazo and the Administrator of Akun Area Administrative Council, Dr Garba Ismaila to succeed.
The District Head further called on the people of the area to continue to support government policies and programmes to succeed.
