Kidnapping: STF open an operational Office in Jos East

Plateau State Special Task Force now have a new branch Operational Office at Angware Jos East Local Government headquarters.

Speaking at the handover of the new building to the STF Commander to serve as operational base, Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of the Council, Hon Markus Useini Nyam commended the Time is Now administration of governor Caleb Mutfwang and the GOC who doubles as the State STF Commander for fulfilling the pledged of beefing up security network in Jos East LGA.

In statement by the Information Officer of the council, Magit, Yusufu Haruna, said the Chairman further expressed optimism that with the Office in place, it would ease rapid response to distress calls from the communities and check the incessant kidnapping and other criminal activities in the locality.

He called on all the security operatives to put their heads together in nipping in the bud all forms of threat to human lives and properties and urged the people to give useful information to men of the Special Task Force to achieve the feat of fishing out bad eggs who are causing mayhem in the area.

Paramount Chief of Afizere Nation, Rev Dr. Isaac Wakili, while presenting the keys to the STF, called on them to live above board and prevailed all ethnic groups in Jos East to unite and cooperate with the STF to enable them combat insecurity in the locality, even as he assured of the traditional council’s backing to succeed.

He however, urged the Chairman to accord topmost priority to security of lives and properties of his people and provide timely logistics to the security operatives for optimal performance

Responding, the STF Commander of Jos East, Flight Lieutenant, Zumka who was represented by CPL Ibrahim Umar appreciated the TIC Chairman, for proving them with the Office and promised to utilize it for the purpose meant, and solicited for support and enabling environment for them to operate without hitch.

Earlier, the Acting Director, Personnel Management of Jos East, Yakubu Bereh and the Desk Officer on Security, Thomas Dayigil both lamented over the spade of kidnapping and other acts of insecurity bedeviling the locality and commended Government, Traditional Council and security operatives for uniting together to find lasting solution to the ugly situation, adding that Council Staff can now heave a sigh of relief to operate.

In their separate commends, PDP Chairman of Jos East, Ishaya Izang, representative of Angware Community, Joseph Azi Agada, Chairman Miyetti Allah Jos East, Ismail Ahmed and representative of the National President, Afizere Youth Movement

Danjuma Azi, all promised to accord the desired support to the STF to flush out criminal elements from their hide outs.

There was Special prayers by Representative of CAN and JNI for effective running of the STF Office and for God’s intervention on the restoration of peace in Jos East.
