The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council, has congratulated the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Her Excellency Ngo Josephine Piyo, on the occasion of her 70th birthday.
The Council described the Deputy Governor as an accomplished public servant who has demonstrated courage, humility and commitment to the growth and development of Plateau State.
In a statement signed by the NUJ Plateau Council Chairman, Ayuku M. Pwaspo, and Secretary, Mary R. Domtur, the Council acknowledged Piyo’s contributions to good governance, peacebuilding and the welfare of the people of the state.
The Council also commended the Deputy Governor for her efforts in promoting women’s participation in leadership and governance, describing such contributions as valuable to the development of Plateau State.
According to the NUJ, Piyo, in her capacity as Deputy Governor, has demonstrated loyalty, dedication and a strong sense of responsibility in supporting the administration of Governor Caleb Mutfwang.
The Council noted that her commitment to the administration has contributed to the collective efforts toward advancing the development agenda of the state.
The NUJ Plateau Council further appreciated the Deputy Governor for maintaining a cordial relationship with the media throughout her years in public service.
It said her recognition of the important role journalists play in society was worthy of commendation, particularly in promoting accountability, development and peaceful coexistence.
The Council described the media as an important partner in the development process, noting that journalists contribute significantly to keeping citizens informed and promoting good governance.
The NUJ therefore joined family, friends, colleagues and the people of Plateau State in celebrating the Deputy Governor’s milestone birthday and appreciating her years of service to the state and humanity.
The Council prayed Almighty God to grant Piyo good health, wisdom and strength as she continues her service to the people.
It also wished her many more years of fruitful service to humanity, peace and continued contribution to the development of Plateau State.
