N240m Project: Sen. Wadada Flags Off 22km Onda-Kana-Apawu Road

Critical stakeholders, sons and daughters of Nasarawa Local Government Area have showered encomiums on the Senator representing Nasarawa West and frontline governorship candidate for the 2027 election, Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, over his rural development drive.

The commendations came at the official groundbreaking and grading of the 22-kilometre Onda-Kana-Apawu road, a project personally funded by the Senator at a cost of over N240 million.

Speakers at the event described the road flag-off as a litmus test of what the Senator will do in terms of rural development if elected governor.

Among those who spoke were Dr. Faisal Shuaib, the APC candidate for Nasarawa West Senatorial District; Dr. Aliyu Bello, the State APC Chairman; Hon. Samuel Egya, Special Adviser to the Governor on Solid Minerals; and Hon. Sani Ottos, Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Investment.

They expressed confidence in Wadada’s capacity and urged the people to vote for him and all APC candidates for consolidation and continuity of the practical governance introduced by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

In his remarks, the State APC Chairman, Dr. Aliyu Bello, said the Senator has shown readiness to deliver service to the people of Nasarawa State.

“Let me begin by expressing gratitude to you for beginning to transform this community even when the job is yet to begin. It goes to say that when elected, no stone will be left unturned. The APC is ready to work and change lives through service delivery as a focused and determined party.

“If you were at Kaduna during the presidential campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he said, and I repeat, we are going into the election to elect all APC candidates from bottom to top and from top to bottom. So if you are in Nasarawa and doing otherwise, you are on your own. The President also mentioned that he is not a supporter of any rainbow coalition,” he stated.

Also speaking, Dr. Faisal Shuaib harped on Senator Wadada’s support for grassroots development and his various humanitarian interventions, which have been his character since his days as a member of the House of Representatives.

“Senator Wadada is one legislator that in less than six months into his first year in the Senate embarked on so many programmes that have transformed his constituents,” he said.

On their part, Hon. Egya and Hon. Ottos said a good Friday can be predicted from Monday.

“This intervention by Senator Wadada, which is from his personal pocket and not constituency allowance, demonstrates that come 2027, Nasarawa State would be better under his administration to continue the good work laid by Governor Sule,” they added.

Addressing the gathering, Senator Wadada said his ambition to be governor is not to lord over anyone but to render service.

“I am not vying for governor to be the boss and be respected, but rather to render service , service to humanity, service to the state and by extension, to contribute in building the Nigeria of our dream and add value to the chain of infrastructural development already established by Governor A.A Sule.

“So we are not here to prove how much knowledge I have, not to tell you that I am the most qualified, nor to tell you that I am the best, but God has chosen me and if you are not pleased with the choice of God you are working against His will. Because no one can choose himself, only God can,” he said.
