Former Director-General of Liaison and Plenipotentiary Affairs in the Benue State Government, Dr. Jimmy Terhemen Ajim, has reaffirmed his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the leadership of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, following his resignation from office.
Dr. Ajim paid a courtesy visit to Senator Akume at his Maitama residence in Abuja, describing the visit as part of his continued commitment to the APC and the political development of Benue State.
Ajim, a London and Switzerland-trained administrator and former protocol officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), served as Director-General of Liaison and Plenipotentiary Affairs before resigning from the Benue State Government.
Observers said the visit underscored his decision to remain active in the party despite leaving government, stressing that his resignation was from an appointment and not from politics.
The visit also highlighted the importance of consultation, party unity and respect for leadership ahead of the 2027 political season, with supporters maintaining that Ajim remains committed to the APC’s broader political objectives.
Political stakeholders noted that the meeting reflects efforts to strengthen cohesion within the party and sustain collaboration under the leadership of Senator Akume in Benue State and the North-Central region.
