The Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, CP Bassey Ewah, has commenced a statewide familiarization tour of police formations, beginning with key divisions in Jos South Local Government Area as part of efforts to strengthen policing strategies and community engagement.
The tour, according to the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP. Alfred Alabo, was aimed at reinforcing security operations and fostering stronger partnerships with local communities, saw the Commissioner visit Rantya, Bukuru, and Anglo-Jos Police Divisions on Tuesday.
During the visits, the Divisional Police Officers DPOs, briefed the Commissioner on prevailing security situations within their jurisdictions, highlighting collaborative measures with community stakeholders to maintain peace, enhance public safety, and prevent crime.
Addressing community leaders and stakeholders, CP Ewah expressed appreciation for their continued support and cooperation with the Police. He emphasized that effective policing depends largely on strong community relationships and urged residents to remain proactive in supporting security agencies through information sharing and vigilance.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across Plateau State, assuring citizens of sustained efforts to improve security outcomes.
In their responses, stakeholders commended CP Ewah for what they described as significant achievements since assuming office. They also pledged continued collaboration with the Police, particularly in intelligence sharing and community-based security initiatives.
The Plateau State Police Command reiterated its resolve to work closely with all relevant stakeholders to ensure lasting peace, stability, and security across the state.
