APC Deputy National Secretary, Kana joins Nasarawa West Senatorial race

Prof. AbdulKarim Kana, Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally declared interest in the Nasarawa West Senatorial District seat ahead of the party’s forthcoming primaries for the 2027 general elections.

Kana made his intention known on Tuesday in Lafia when he led hundreds of supporters and party loyalists to the APC State Secretariat to formally notify the state leadership of his ambition.

Kana who is also a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), said that his decision to contest followed wide consultations and persistent calls from stakeholders across the five Local Government Areas of Keffi, Karu, Kokona, Nasarawa, and Toto that make up the Nasarawa West Senatorial District.

“This is not a personal ambition, but a response to the collective voice of our people who believe I can offer effective representation at the Red Chamber.

“I have served the party at the national level with loyalty and integrity, and I am ready to bring that same dedication to serve my senatorial district,” he stressed.

The Deputy National Secretary of APC also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for the choice of Senator. Ahmed Wadada (APC, Nasarawa West) as his preferred successor and pledged his total loyalty to the governor and the party.

Kana further explained that Wadada is a worthy ambassador of the state and has always distinguished himself in every responsibility bestowed upon him.

“We will do everything possible to ensure that Wadada wins our party primaries as well as the general election to be the next governor in 2027,” he added.

Receiving the aspirant and his entourage, the Nasarawa State APC Chairman, Dr Aliyu Bello, lauded Kana for respecting the party structures and consulting them on his ambition.

He described Kana as a disciplined party man whose loyalty to the party is not in doubt and urged him to exhibit maturity during the campaign period in the overall interest of the party. (NAN).
