Plateau State is set to witness a historic political event as the Executive Governor of the state, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, prepares for his formal reception into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The event, scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, will take place at the Polo Field in Jos, and is expected to attract national attention, as top political leaders, party officials, and a massive crowd of supporters from across Plateau State and beyond.

Wase stated that the committee, which includes Distinguished Senator Simon Mwadkon as Deputy Chairman and other prominent members, has been working round the clock to ensure a well-coordinated, peaceful, and memorable event. Various sub-committees, he added, have been mobilized to handle logistics, security, media, protocol, and crowd control.

Reflecting on Governor Mutfwang’s administration, the committee described his leadership as transparent, humble, consultative, and people-centred, noting that these qualities have earned him respect across political divides.
Given the national importance of the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, is expected to formally receive the governor into the APC. Other dignitaries expected include the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Progressive Governors, members of the APC National Working Committee, federal lawmakers, members of the Federal Executive Council, traditional rulers, and other stakeholders from across the country.
The committee assured residents and visitors of adequate security arrangements, effective traffic control, and crowd-management measures, in anticipation of a large turnout.
Wase appealed to the people of Plateau State to welcome visitors warmly and conduct themselves peacefully and responsibly, stressing that the success of the event depends on collective orderliness and cooperation with security agencies.
He also called on the media to give the event wide and objective coverage, describing journalists as critical partners in promoting accurate information, positive narratives, and national goodwill.
