Appeal Court Judgment: Nasarawa PDP urges supporters to remain calm

Ahead of the Appeal Court hearing on the Nasarawa State Governorship Elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has called on its supporters to continue to remain law abiding.

This is contained in a statement by Ibrahim Hamza, Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state and made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Lafia.

The party party also urged residents to remain calm, avoid tension and provocation but be prayerful for a renewed hope that the judiciary would ensure justice for those who meritoriously seek it.

He added that inspite of moves by some people to influence the judiciary to deliver a judgement contrary to the facts before them, the Almighty God who did it for them at the tribunal would still do it again.

He called thier supporters and the entire residents of the state to remain united, steadfast, and committed in their quest for a united Nasarawa state.”

“While we remain committed to freedom, peace, and development of the state irrespective of the level of provocation from those desperate to govern you at all cause, do not be carried away by their unpopular antics,” he added.

The party, however, assures the good people of the State of their confidence to claim victory.

PDP also called on the people to go about their daily affairs peacefully as they believed that adequate security would be provided by the security services before, during, and after the declaration of the appeal judgment.

“Residents of Nasarawa State should play their part to avoid being involved in the breakdown of law and order of whatever dimension.

“In view of the fact that the judges presiding over our case would be guided by the rule of law, fear of God, shun all forms of intimidations and inducement, we are sure of victory,” he said.

The opposition party therefore, called on the security agencies not to allow any person or group no matter their status in the state to jeopardize the relative peace being enjoyed in the state. (NAN).
