
Nasarawa State Chapter of the Labour party, on Saturday inaugurated 148 members of campaign council with a charge to deliver the state for its Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and all other party candidates in the state.
Speaking with the newsmen in Lafia, after the inauguration, Mr Joshua Angadzi, Nasarwa state campaign Council Chairman, said members were given a mandate to canvass for votes for party’s candidates from across the 13 local government of the state.
He added that the campaign council were determined and committed to delivering the state for party’s Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and all other candidates across the state.
Angadzi called on supporters of the party to shun all forms of violence during and after the campaigns, noted that anyone found causing trouble in the guise of campaigning for the party would be handed over to the security agents.
Angadzi faulted the All Progressives Congress led government at the federal and state levels for failing to deliver the dividends of democracy to citizens.

He expressed confidence in Peter Obi and other party candidates to emerge victorious come 2023 general election to institute good governance at all levels of governments and deliver dividend of democracy to all.
“Today, we have just inaugurated the 148 campaign council members, they are to go round the state to canvass for votes for Peter Obi and all our candidates in Nasarawa state.
“There is insecurity everywhere, price of food stuffs have gone too high in the market, the country is facing with challenges under APC government, so, time has come for us to send them packing so that Nigeria can be better for all of us.
“Violence had affected the outcome of previous elections in the state, so in the 2023 elections, we will not allow any of our supporters to get involve in violence because we want credible leaders to be elected into office,” he said.
Speaking earlier, Alexander Emmanuel, the party state Chairman, explained that members of the campaign council comprised of the representatives of women and youths groups and people with disabilities in the state.
He warned them against involving themselves in anti-party activities, noted that anyone caught sabotaging the efforts of the party would be sanctioned accordingly.
Agum Akpandam, a newly inaugurated member expressed gratitude to the leaders of the party for the confidence reposed in them and promised to put in their best to ensure victory for the party in 2023 general elections.
