NSCDC Seals 2 Illegal Petroleum Dumps Sites in Abuja

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC has confiscated and sealed two illegal Petroleum Products Oil dumps sites and confiscated over 130,000 Liters of suspected vandalized, adulterated, illegally owned Refined AGO in Abuja.

Commandant General, Special Intelligence Squad, DCC Dandaura Appollos led his squad on the operation while acting on an Intelligence at Jahi 1 area of Abuja Municipal Area Council, FCT.

The CG’SIS Operatives discovered, raided and sealed the illegal Petroleum product dump site that according to the operatives, they specializes in halting and illegal storage of suspected vandalized, and Adulteration of Petroleum products, most especially AGO, before reload it into long peddler trucks and other types of vehicles and objects for sales to the general public within FCT and it’s environs.

According to the NSCDC, activities of the suspects is causing an untold hardship to the public and sabotaging Government efforts in ensuring the free flow of petroleum products in the FCT and it’s environs.

Two (2) Suspects were arrested during the operation by the squads as they sealed the illegal dump site.

Items confiscated as exhibits includes, 8 surface tanks , containing 42,900 litres of AGO, 8,000 litres of AGO, and 1,000 litres of AGO respectively.14 calibrated rubbers containing 300 litres of AGO and 1,000 litres of AGO respectively.

Others were 8 Tankers, 1No.Toyota hilux (tacoma) carton colour no number but empty. 3 Pumping machines, 13- 1No.white big  MIKANO generator. 

Similarly, the Squad also raided and sealed another illegal dump yard located at Katampe area in Abuja Municipal Area Council of the FCT, and arrested six (6) suspects.

The said Suspect were arrested while working at an illegal Petroleum product dump site and many items were recovered during the raid.

The two (2) illegal dumps site and all the recovered exhibits mentioned above, though still at the crime scene, 

were all handed over to the State Commandant, NSCDC, FCT Command, for further investigation, Parading and Prosecution.

The success story is coming few days after the Head, Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad DCC, Dandaura Appollos bagged an award as the most outstanding NSCDC Anti-vandal officer of the year 2022.

The award was given to him by the Editor-in-chief of National crime watch, Tony okpe and founder of Tony okpe communications, the award will serve as a stimulant for the team to explore more in crime fighting.
