The Gubernatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Plateau State, Solomon Nandy Chendan has expressed his disappointment over the manner the current Governor, Simon Lalong is handling security issues in the State.
The Candidate was speaking while sympathizing with the people of Bokkos over series of attacks on some communities that led to lost of lives and property in the area Council recently.
He said despite receiving not less than 21 billion naira as security vote in 7 years, the governor has failed to guarantee the safety of it’s citizens as the attacks and killings continue unabated.
The Governorship Candidate who is a Security expert and former security consultant for the former Governor of Nasarawa State, Tanko Al-makura, said he is not happy hearing news all the time that a child of a no body is being killed for no reason and the perpetrators go free.
“And the government of the day who collects not less than 212 million naira monthly and in his seven years he has access not less than 21 billion naira for security yet, the citizens are being killed. Our mothers and daughters are being raped, this is very sad and no nation will accept that” he said.

He lamented and called on the government to openly declare to the citizens how much they are collecting and how they are utilizing the security funds.
The ADC Governorship Candidate said as a security expert, if elected governor, he will deploy technologies to address the security challenges bedeviling the state. He said he will build a system where every citizens will enjoy and that he will harness best brains that will contribute to the development of the state.

Reacting to the statement on the security vote funds, the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dan Manjang said “let the Candidate wait for sometime, if God say he will be a governor, then he will give us details, the right figure to the state, but now it is conjecture and I will not respond to conjecture.
“You are a Journalist and if you have been in this state when people always run helter skelter and now, then you can tell whether the government has done something or not” the Commissioner said.
He added that the insecurity is not an issue of Plateau State alone, and that the Peace Building Agency of the State are working hard which is yielding positive result, saying insecurity is not alien to Plateau State.
