The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps has raided and confiscated another illegal Petroleum Products Oil Dump Site at Church Gate, Central Area of Abuja Municipal Area Council AMAC.
Statement by the Commandant General’s Special Intelligence Squad of the NSCDC, DCC Dandaura Appollos, said they were able to confiscated over 90,000 Litters of suspected Vandalized, adulterated and illegal refined AGO on Thursday first December, 2022.
“At about 1155hrs of 1st December 2022, around Church Gate, by central Area, Garki, Abuja Municipal of FCT. The CG’SIS Squad acting on credible intelligence, cordoned up an illegal oil dump situated in the heart of the FCT, sealed it up and arrested the following Suspects namely: (1) Ikenna Ndionwu, 42 yrs, Igbo, Idaeto South LGA ,Imo state. [manager of the dump] (2) Martins Okoli, 38 yrs, Igbo Oruomba North LGA, Anambra state. [ Dump driver] (3) Nasiru Dahiru, 32 yrs, Hausa, Shira LGA, Bauchi state. [Dump driver].
The said Suspect were arrested on the act while working at the above said illegal Petroleum product dump site, and the following exhibits were recovered.
[1] 8Nos. 10 tyres short peddler Empty Trucks waiting to load at the dump
[2] 12Nos. surface tanks, 1 with 45,000 Litre AGO, 1 with 2500 litres,1 with 4000 litres,1with 2000 litres and 1 with 15000 litres. [3] 2Nos. pumping machines attached to 2Nos.counting machines with hose and [4] 7Nos. Empty drums
[5] 13Nos Drums with 250 litres each of AGO. [6] 4Nos. calibrated rubbers, 1 with 600 litres and another with 200 litres of AGO. [7] 12Nos. Empty kegs” the statement read in parts.
The statement added that the said illegal dumps site and all the recovered exhibits mentioned above, though still at the crime scene, were all handed over to the State Commandant, NSCDC ,FCT Command, for further investigation, parading and prosecution.
