
Jos East local government Lawmakers from Maigemu District have scored the council Chairman, Yakubu Ezekiel and his administration high for his developmental stride that is giving hope to the electorates.
Leader of the Council, Engr Samuel Kayarda who doubles as the Councillor representing Godong Ward led his colleagues including Councillor representing Jarawan Kogi “A” Ward, Joseph Jonathan and that of Jarawan Kogi “B” Ward Ajang Atu as well as the Councillor representing Maigemu ward Hon. Samaila Yohanna Izang for an unscheduled visit to the long abandoned Angware Market which is within their jurisdiction of Maigemu District where they commended the Chairman for the ongoing work.
Report by Mary Nash and Dabs Agwom of the Information Unit of the council said, the lawmakers expressed that the present administration is making the electorates proud by keeping to the promised of completing the 20 luck up shops. The lawmakers were all elated with the fast pace of work and pointed out that the Shops if completed would boost the revenue base of the Local Government.
While calling on the supervising body from Works Department to ensure that the quality of work is not compromised, they urged them to keep to the dateline of completing the job to enable the council Chairman commission it during the one year anniversary events of the present administration.


Earlier, the Legislative Council, had during plenary received and also approved Rules guiding the Legislators from the Committee on House Rules, Business and Ethics, headed by Hon. Joseph Jonathan, Councillor representing Jarawan Kogi “A” Ward.
Leader of the Legislative Council, Engr Samuel Kayarda, commended the Committee for their resilience and doggedness and called on other committees saddled with oversight functions to double up effort at ensuring they present their reports as scheduled.
On matters of urgent public importance, the Councilor representing, Fobur “A” Ward, Titus Atang Abok made a case over incessant attacks on Fobur Communities and other parts of the Local Government Area, which led to loss of innocent lives and kidnapping of people unabatedly.
The House, after deliberating on the matter, unanimously condemned the inhuman act in strong terms and said, security of lives and properties would be a topmost priority of the present administration in Jos East
The matter was however committed to House Committee on Security to urgently find out from security reports of the Council and revert to the House with a view to ensuring the security of the Local Government Area as a whole is being tackled headlong.
Also on the floor of the House it was gathered that the Committee on Works were on an oversight function at Federe concerning installation of telecommunication Buster Mask in the locality to boost communication network.
