Says he was a statesman of uncommon integrity, discipline, and simplicity whose legacy is indelible

Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has mourned the death of immediate past Nigeria’s President, late Muhammadu Buhari, saying that he was a statesman of uncommon integrity, discipline, and simplicity whose legacy is indelible, characterized by a strong anti-corruption stance, infrastructural renewal, agricultural revolution and efforts to reposition Nigeria’s economy for growth and self-sufficiency.
He described late President, late Muhammadu Buhari as a towering figure whose life was marked by unwavering service, patriotic devotion, and a resolute commitment to the unity, security, and advancement of our great country, Nigeria.”
The Governor said that the sad news of the former President’s passing has plunged the nation into mourning, as we come to terms with the loss of a rare gem.
According to a statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Governor, Bala Mohammed expressed deep sorrow and a profound sense of national loss, on behalf of his family, the government, and the entire people of Bauchi State, over the demise of the former President who passed away on Sunday in London after a protracted illness.
“President Muhammadu Buhari was a statesman of uncommon integrity, discipline, and simplicity. His military and political career spanned decades of selfless sacrifice, including his service as Military Head of State from 1983 to 1985, and later as Nigeria’s democratically elected President from 2015 to 2023.”
“Buhari was a patriotic elder statesman, firm in his convictions, calm in demeanor, yet unwavering in his commitment to national unity and good governance.He stabilized Nigeria and promoted democratic values, especially during a time when the nation faced multiple challenges on various fronts”
“His stoic demeanor and ability to maintain personal discipline, even at the height of political power, are attributes worthy of emulation by current and future generations,”
“Bauchi State holds a special place in the history and journey of President Buhari, and his memory will remain evergreen in the hearts of our people. His passing is not just a loss to his immediate family or to the people of Katsina State, but a monumental loss to the entire nation and Africa at large.”he said
The Governor noted that the late President’s humble lifestyle, and his belief in transparency and accountability served as enduring examples for leaders at all levels of government.
“As we mourn, we also celebrate the life of an extraordinary Nigerian whose footsteps will continue to guide our nation’s pursuit of justice, equity, and unity. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, rewards his sacrifices, and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.”He added
Governor Mohammed extended his heartfelt condolences to his family, the Government and people of Katsina State, the National Council of State, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and indeed all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora praying that,”May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
