FULafia, FUTH constitute committee to strengthen medical training

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) in collaboration with Federal University Teaching Hospital, FUTH, has set up a committee to strengthen medical training and research.

The committee has Prof. Shehu Abdul-Rahman, Vice Chancellor (VC) of FULafia, as its Chairman and Dr Hassan Ikrama, Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the teaching hospital, as its Vice Chairman.

Speaking during the committee’s inauguration on Wednesday in Lafia, Abdul-Rahman said the collaboration seeks to improve medical student training, foster joint research initiatives, and promote academic development.

He emphasised the institutions’ commitment to building a robust partnership that upholds world-class standards in medical education and research.

Also speaking, the CMD of the facility noted that the partnership is poised to elevate the quality of medical training, positioning the state as a hub for academic and healthcare excellence.

He emphasised that the medical school would produce highly competent medical doctors capable of practicing at different levels of the healthcare system in the world.

Ikrama also led the committee members on a tour of the teaching hospital’s facilities, including lecture halls, laboratories, and hostels. (NAN) .
