Nasarawa Monarch Seeks Level playing ground for all Political parties

The “Oriye Rindre”, Justice, Lawal Musa Nagogo, the Paramount ruler of Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa state has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, other agencies saddled with the responsibilities conducting election in the state to ensure free, fair and transparent in process in the forthcoming Nasarawa North Senatorial bye-election.

The first class monarch stated this on Sunday, while hosting, the campaign team of David Emmanuel Ombugadu of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)who were in his his palace in Wamba to receive royal blessings ahead of his senatorial bye election slated for June 20, 2026.

Nagogo who advocated for a level playing ground for all candidates involved in the bye election, said the electorates are the determining factor in deciding the winner of any election, but when other forces influence the outcome of electoral process, the eventual winner lacks the mandate of the people.

The monarch while cautioning against religious politics in the area, prayed for the success of Ombugadu in the election, urging him to follow the footsteps of the late Sen. Godiya Akwashiki, who representation at the Senate favoured the Wamba people.

Speaking earlier, Dr. David Ombugadu, recalled that, Justice Lawal Nagogo, was instrumental to his success when he contested and won as a two term member of the National Assembly.

According to him, he has reciprocated the love the Monarch and Wamba people showed him, by ensuring that many projects were spread across the LGA such as boreholes, health centre facilities and schools.

He assured that if elected to represent them in the senate, he would consolidate on late Sen. Akwashiki achievement to bring more development to the zone.

Ombugadu, also promised to attract workable partnerships to develop tourist potentials in Wamba, particularly Farin Ruwa Water Falls as one of the viable tourist destinations in Africa and also facilitate the siting of a mining institution in the area.

The senatorial hopeful, visited various electoral wards such as Konvah, Wayo, Wamba and Wamba West electoral among others, he paid visit to the leadership of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Muslim counterparts, Jamaatul Nasirul (JNI) in the area for consultation and prayers for his success.
