The Rotary Club of Lafia has donated two baby incubators and a phototherapy light to Federal University Teaching Hospital (FUTH) Lafia to strengthen neonatal healthcare services.
Speaking during the presentation on Tuesday in Lafia, Mr Emmanuel Joseph -Attah, President of the club explained
that the intervention was aimed at improving the was aimed at improving the survival chances of infants who require specialised medical attention.
He explained that the club carried out an assessment of the hospital and identified gaps in neonatal care equipment, prompting the intervention.

“Quality healthcare is a collective responsibility. We intervened to complement government efforts in ensuring children receive the care they need,” Joseph-Attah said.
He added that the gesture reflects the club’s commitment to humanitarian service and community health support and is part of its focus on maternal and child health across its districts in Nigeria.
Receiving the items, Dr Hassan Ikrama, Chief Medical Director of the hospital appreciated the gesture and said they would be beneficial and impactful to both patients and the hospital’s neonatal unit.
The Medical Director stressed that the incubators and phototherapy light would go a long way in improving the quality of care for newborns. (NAN).
