Anglican Bishop Urges Fathers to Instil Discipline, Moral Values in Children

The Anglican Bishop of Lafia, Nasarawa State, Right Reverend Godwin Robinson, has urged fathers to take responsibility for instilling discipline and moral values in their children to promote stability in the family and the nation.

Bishop Robinson made the call during a one-day special conference for men organised by the Anglican Church in Nasarawa State in Lafia, the state capital.

The conference provided a platform for participants to reflect on the role of fathers in strengthening family unity and promoting national peace and development.

Addressing the congregation, Bishop Robinson said fathers had a critical role to play in restoring moral values among their children to raise responsible citizens.

He stressed that every leader comes from a family, making it imperative for fathers to serve as role models and instil the values needed to prepare their children for responsible leadership in adulthood.

In a keynote address, the Acting President of the Christian Men’s Fellowship in Nasarawa State, Comrade Paul Useini, said the growing moral decadence and poor leadership across the country called for spiritual rebirth, beginning from the family.

Comrade Useini expressed optimism that the conference would provide participants with insights into addressing social vices among young people and building stronger families and a better society.

The conference, held under the theme, “Be a Father That God Wants You to Be,” featured presentations on various topics, including “Gender-Based Violence: The Role of the Church and Community.” (Radio Nigeria)
