As preparations for the 2027 general elections enters top gear, Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has established a formidable political vanguard known as the “SSG Ambassadors.”
According to the SSG, “this is a strategic move to consolidate the gains of the current administration and to ensure continuity in governance”.
He said the initiative is designed to galvanize widespread support from the people of Niger State for the re-election of the state Governor, Umaru Bago, for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
According to him “the Ambassadors are a grassroots-oriented organization tasked with the critical mandate of sensitizing the populace on the landmark achievements of the Bago-led administration since its inception.
“The group aims to bridge the gap between the Government and the governed by effectively communicating the transformative impact of the New Niger Agenda.”
Usman added that the organization is structured to ensure a comprehensive reach across the three geopolitical zones of the state. Adding that “the official launch of the Ambassadors has been held in Suleja, covering Zone B, arrangements are in top gear to inaugurate the chapters for Zone A and Zone C in the coming days”.
Speaking on the rationale behind the initiative, Usman emphasized that the achievements of Governor Umaru Bago in infrastructure, agriculture, education and youth empowerment are too significant to be left to chance.
He noted that the 2027 election is a referendum on the progress made so far, and the SSG Ambassadors will serve as the foot soldiers to secure a resounding victory for the Governor.
“The establishment of the SSG Ambassadors is a call to action. We have a Governor who has redefined governance in Niger State.
“From the urban renewal projects to the agricultural revolution, Bago has walked the talk. It is our duty as beneficiaries of this good governance to go back to our various wards and polling units to showcase these achievements and ensure we return him for a second term to complete the good work,” he noted.
Usman then called on all loyal members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the entire people of Niger State to embrace the SSG Ambassadors initiative as it berths in their respective zones.
He urged them to join hands with the organization to ensure that the Governor continues his mission of building a prosperous Niger State beyond 2027.
