Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu, the APC Governorship Candidate for Nasarawa State, has recorded a major political boost with the defection of over 6,000 PDP members from the Wike faction into the APC.
The mass defection, described as one of the biggest political harvests in the state’s recent history, has sent jitters to the main opposition PDP and created anxiety in the camps of other governorship contenders.
The decampees, led by Alhaji Sani, formally joined the APC on Sunday under the coordination of Prince Abdullahi Attajiri, the Baraden Keffi, in a ceremony that reaffirmed their support for the Senator Wadada 2027 mandate.
Political observers say the development further demonstrates the growing acceptance and confidence in Senator Wadada’s leadership across Nasarawa State.
In a related engagement, Senator Wadada also held a warm and interactive session with stakeholders from the Koro community of Panda Development Area in Karu Local Government Council.
The meeting, held at the Keffi Polo Ranch along the Abuja-Keffi Expressway, was described as a moment of dialogue and renewed commitment to the Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu’s 2027 project.
The back-to-back political gains come amid criticisms trailing Governor Abdullahi Sule’s support for Senator Wadada following the outcome of the APC governorship primaries in the state.
However, APC leaders insist the party remains focused and united, expressing confidence that it will retain power in 2027 by delivering both President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Ahmed Wadada Aliyu and all other candidates at the polls.
Recent account of political activities across the state indicated that from across the 13 LGAs, the Ruling All progressive congress continue to build supporting groups among tribes , communities and associations with massive distributions of household needs for the empowerment of women and youth to be self reliant.
