Bishop Ezekiel Musa-Malle, House of Assembly Candidate for Obi II Constituency in Nasarawa State under the Nigeria Democratic Congress, (NDC) has constructed three bridges linking over 10 communities in the area.
Speaking at the inauguration of the projects on Monday in Obi Local Government Area (LGA), Musa-Malle said that the gesture was to alleviate the suffering his people are facing due to the deplorable state of the bridges.
He explained that the first bridge is linking Gude, Shupe, Ome and Atabula communities, the second one is linking Gida Ausa I with Dazhela, Dazhogwa with other communities and work on the third bridge is linking Ome with other communities.
Musa-Malle is the founder and Bishop of Finger of God Ministry and Chief Executive Officer of Easy Light Humanitarian Foundation.
The NDC candidate noted that he constructed the bridges to alleviate the suffering of the communities and assist in the transportation of people and goods to the market and urban centres.
Musa-Malle also explained that he had paid three months’ electricity bills, repaired a spoiled transformer, and installed two poles that were destroyed by the rainstorm in Duduguru community.
He further explained that the intervention became necessary due to the hardship the people in the area are facing, especially now that it is rainy season.
He, however added that if elected in 2027, he would facilitate employment for the youths, empower women and farmers and attract the government’s presence to alleviate the plight of his people.
“I will also sponsor quality bills, move impactful motions that will empower our people and open our communities to development,” Musa-Malle added.
Responding on behalf of the communities, Mr Peter Markus, Village Head of Shupe community appreciated the candidate for the gesture and described it as the first major private intervention on infrastructure in the area.
The Village Head narrated that, before now, the bridges were in devastating condition to the point that the affected communities could hardly access the urban city and convey their farm produce to the market.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that the ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, youth groups, women leaders and party stakeholders.
Barr. Ayiwul Baba-Ayiwulu, Nasarawa South Senatorial candidate of the party and others at the event said the projects reflect their focus on grassroots development and urged the people to vote for all NDC candidates in the next election. (NAN).
