Following its resolution to reclaim power from the current Governor, a Political group under the auspices of Niger Rescue Movement (NRM) has formally thrown its support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the State, saying it will not support the re-election of Governor Umaru Bago at the 2027 general elections.
Chairman of the movement, Hon. Mikail Bmitosahi while addressing Journalists said that the decision was not made in haste but in the interest of the people of Niger State and Nigeria at large.
It should be noted that, members of the movement are former APC members who served in various positions.
According to him, “2027 is about the future of our children. Let us build it together under ADC., calling on all members of NRM, supporters, and all well-meaning citizens of Niger State to join us in this movement.
Bmitosahi who was Chief of Staff to former Governor Sani Bello insisted that the people of Niger State deserve security, jobs, quality education, quality healthcare delivery, portable water, and good roads. believing that the ADC is the credible platform is the best opportunity to drive that agenda.
He then assured that it will mobilize all its structures across the 25 LGAs to work for ADC victory.
He added that “we will not engage in politics of bitterness but we will embark on campaign of solutions for Niger State.
Bmitosahi then urged members to take the message to every ward, every village, every polling unit and local government areas of the state.
He further revealed that they have watched the ADC position itself as a credible platform for new thinking, for internal democracy, and for giving Nigerians especially the youth a real voice in 2027, having membership across all the political parties in the state.
Also speaking, Mamman Musa Bosso accused governor Mohammed Umar Bago’s administration of not making public it’s government contracts awards approved by the executive council through press conference and lacked public bidding. Adding that the present administration lacks transparency and accountability in governance.
Similarly, a former commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman maintained that Governor Mohammed Umar Bago is not a listening leader but does thing as he wished hence the need to tent their net under the ADC as the only viable option to rescue the state.
