FUT Minna Seeks Partnership With NCDC, Congratulates Bashar on Appointment

The School of Environmental Technology, Federal University of Technology (FUT), Minna, has sought strategic partnership with the North Central Development Commission (NCDC) to promote research, innovation, capacity building and regional development.

The Dean of the School, Prof. O.A. Kemiki, made the request during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the institution to the NCDC headquarters in Lafia on Tuesday.

Kemiki said the visit was also to congratulate Prof. Muhammad Bashar Nuhu, Executive Director, Finance of the commission, on his appointment.

He described Bashar’s appointment as well deserved and a source of pride to the school and the university, noting that the scholar had distinguished himself through outstanding academic and administrative service over the years.

According to him, Bashar has served in several strategic capacities at FUT Minna, including as Head of the Department of Estate Management and Valuation and Director of the Centre for Human Settlement and Urban Development.

He said the appointment reflected Bashar’s competence, leadership and commitment to public service.

Kemiki also appreciated the executive director for his sustained support to the Department of Estate Management and Valuation and the School of Environmental Technology.

He particularly commended Bashar’s contribution to the successful hosting of the school’s international conference, describing his support as invaluable.

The dean assured the commission of the school’s readiness to collaborate in research, capacity building and other development initiatives aimed at advancing the commission’s mandate across the North Central region.

Responding, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the NCDC, Dr. Cyril  Tsenyil, thanked the delegation for the visit and the commendation of Bashar.

Tsenyil described the executive director as a dedicated professional making significant contributions to the successful take-off of the commission.

He reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to partnering with universities and research institutions to promote knowledge-driven development and improve educational standards across the North Central region.

In his remarks, Bashar expressed appreciation to his colleagues for the visit and their goodwill.

He pledged to continue supporting the growth of the School of Environmental Technology and FUT Minna while remaining committed to the effective implementation of the commission’s mandate. (NAN)
