Wase Equity Project Marks Democracy Day, Welcomes Ahmed Wase from Hajj Mission

The Wase Equity Project has joined Nigerians in celebrating the 2026 Democracy Day, congratulating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Plateau State Governor Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase.

The group also pay tribute to former political office holders from Wase Local Government Area for their contributions to democratic development.

In a statement issued on Friday by its Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Muhammad Badu (Dan Malikin Wase), the group described Democracy Day as a significant occasion that reflects Nigeria’s collective struggle, resilience, and commitment to democratic governance.

The organisation commended past political leaders from Wase LGA, noting that their vision, courage, and selfless service laid the foundation for many of the democratic and developmental achievements currently enjoyed by the people.

According to the statement, the sacrifices and contributions of former office holders at various levels of government remain a lasting legacy and a source of inspiration for present and future generations.

The Wase Equity Project also offered prayers for serving political office holders across all levels of government, urging divine guidance, wisdom, and protection for them as they continue to serve their constituents and strengthen democratic institutions.

The group further used the occasion to warmly welcome Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase back to Nigeria following his successful assignment as the Amirul Hajj of Plateau State during the 2026 pilgrimage.

It praised the former Deputy Speaker for what it described as exemplary leadership and dedication throughout the Hajj exercise, expressing confidence that his stewardship contributed to a successful pilgrimage for Plateau State pilgrims.

The statement also prayed for the acceptance of the acts of worship, supplications, and sacrifices offered by pilgrims from Wase LGA, Plateau State, and Nigeria as a whole, while expressing hope that the blessings of the pilgrimage would bring peace, unity, and prosperity to communities across the country.

Reaffirming its commitment to the progress of the area, the Wase Equity Project called on residents to continue working together towards building a stronger and more united Wase Federal Constituency.
