Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel, has congratulated the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) over the successful election of Rev. Associate Professor Benjamin Pokol as Vice President and Rev. Dinfa Mamshal as General Secretary of the Church.
The Speaker described the emergence of the two clerics as a blessing to the Church, noting that their election reflects COCIN’s commitment to entrusting leadership responsibilities to individuals with proven integrity, spiritual depth, and dedication to the advancement of God’s Kingdom.
In a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Philip Eplong, the speaker said the new leadership comes with great expectations and opportunities to strengthen faith, accountability, compassion, and purposeful service within the body of Christ.
He expressed confidence that Rev. Prof. Pokol and Rev. Mamshal would bring renewed vitality and institutional growth to the Church, considering their years of commitment to ministry, mentorship, and Christian stewardship.
The Speaker further acknowledged the critical role COCIN has continued to play in shaping moral values, promoting education, nurturing communities, and encouraging peaceful coexistence, especially in Plateau State and across the country.
Rt. Hon. Daniel urged the newly elected Church leaders to remain steadfast and visionary in their service, while building bridges of reconciliation, understanding, and spiritual renewal among believers and society at large.
He also prayed for divine wisdom, grace, and strength for the new Vice President and General Secretary as they begin their new responsibilities.
