APC Concerned Stakeholders Seek for Credible Primary Election in Nasarawa.

A group under the aegis of Concerned APC members in Nasarawa State has call for a credible primary election across the state.

The leader of the group, Hon. Abdullahi Yammani, stated this during a press conference at the NUJ Press Center Lafia.

He said that crisis is brewing within the Nasarawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following widespread allegations of irregularities, favoritism, and logistical failures during the party’s recent Senatorial and House of Representatives primary elections.

As such, the group expressed deep dissatisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, warning that the fallout could fracture the party’s stability ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the stakeholders, the primary elections were heavily marred by the late arrival or complete absence of electoral materials in several key areas.

The group noted that party members were effectively disenfranchised in multiple wards within the state capital, Lafia, and its environs.

Some of the affected areas include, “Gayam, Akurba, Wakwa wards, Agyaragu, Assakio, Ashige wards, Shabu/Kwandare, BAD, and Arikya wards”.

The stakeholders raised alarms over a total collapse of the collation process, citing a lack of properly coordinated arrangements for gathering and submitting results.

“This logistical failure, has thrown the entire process into confusion and severely damaged its credibility”.

The stakeholders further accused the state party officials of making decisions that openly favored specific candidates, abandoning the required principles of fairness and neutrality.

The concerned members called on the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, to urgently intervene, investigate the conduct of the Nasarawa primaries, and restore peace and justice to the state chapter.

“If these concerns are not properly addressed, they may create avoidable internal issues capable of affecting the unity, stability, and overall progress of the party in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections, while reaffirming the group’s ultimate commitment to the success of the APC”, he added.
