YCN endorses Gov. Sule for Senate, Wadada for Governor

The Nasarawa State chapter of the Youths Council of Nigeria (YCN) has endorsed Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat ahead of the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Mr John Damina, State Chairman of the Youth Council announced this at a press conference on Thursday in Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

According to Damina, the decision followed a months-long review of the governor’s performance and his administration’s impact on youth empowerment, education, agriculture, and infrastructure development.

“The council carefully evaluated the record of Governor Sule and concluded that his leadership has created opportunities for young people across the state,” Damina said.

“Through skills acquisition programs, job creation initiatives, and projects in education, agriculture, and industrialisation, he has shown that he understands the needs of our generation,” he said.

The Chairman added that Sule’s work in the zone including dualisation of three roads, flyover and underpass, ongoing Jos road bypass, other road networks, school rehabilitation, and support for small businesses, made him the right candidate to represent the zone in the Senate.

“Governor Sule has created an enabling environment for young people to thrive. His record speaks for itself, and we believe he will represent Nasarawa North effectively at the Senate,” Damina stated.

In the governorship race, the council named Sen. Ahmed Wadada (APC, Nasarawa West) as its preferred choice to succeed Governor Sule in 2027.

Damina said Wadada’s legislative experience and constituency interventions had positioned him to build on the current administration’s achievements.

The YCN pledged to mobilise youths across the state to ensure both candidates secure victory at the polls.

“We will take this message to every ward and polling unit to ensure that Nasarawa continues on the path of progress under leaders who understand the aspirations of young people,” Damina said.

He also urged other youth groups in the state to avoid divisive politics and focus on supporting candidates with verifiable track records. (NAN).
