The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr Labaran Magaji has urged the people of Toto Local Government Area and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to support the reelection of President Bola Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s preferred aspirant, Sen. Ahmed Wadada.

Magaji made the appeal during a meeting with stakeholders and APC supporters in Toto Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

He explained that voting for Gov. Sule, the preferred aspirant, and all other APC aspirants, starting from primary elections to general elections, would enable the APC-led administration to consolidate on the achievements recorded in the state.

Magaji, while making a case for the reelection of President Tinubu to continue with his reforms, noted that his administration has brought Nigeria on the track of economic recovery, prosperity and development.

Magaji, who is also the Nasarawa state Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, highlighted achievements recorded by the administration of Gov. Sule in Toto LGA, including road construction, numerous appointments given to sons and daughters of the Area.

Others are restoration of lasting peace to Toto LGA, which has brought about economic stability and development to the area, which hitherto eluded the LGA due to lingering communal crisis.

Magaji strongly emphasised the need for people to jealously guard their APC membership card against politicians who might want to deceive them as the party’s primary election approaches.

“The choice of Sen. Wadada by the Governor as his preferred successor from the Nasarawa West Zone is deliberate, it’s done after a series of consultations in the spirit of fairness, having seen his capacity to lead the state.

“Hence the need to embrace the governor’s choice and rally support to ensure his victory for sustained peace and progress of the dear state and Toto LGA in particular,” he said.

Magaji also drummed support for the former Executive Secretary of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr Faisal Shuaib, as he contested for the Nasarawa West Senatorial Seat.

Also speaking, Mr Salihu Fancy, APC Chairman, Toto LGA said that the party had been working hard to ensure a hitch-free primary in the LGA as well as supporting President Tinubu, Gov. Sule’s preferred governorship aspirant and others to emerge victorious.

Others who spoke at the event are Toto APC Women leader, Mrs Salamatu Abdulrhaman, Senior Special Assistant to Gov. Sule on Chieftaincy Affairs, Abdullahi Ibrahim, Toto LGA Chairman, Pharm. Ahmed-Baba Yahaya, and Toto LGA Renewed Hope Ambassador, Dr Zachari Sani, resolved to work for the success of the party.

Relatedly, the Magaji interfaced with clerics from different denominations in Toto, led by the LGA Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Adeyemi Folarunsho and assured them to channel their request to the Teachers’ Service Commission to address the lack of Christian Religious Studies teachers in primary schools.

Magaji, while urging them to uphold unity and love rather than divisive preaching, as well as supporting the Government in its efforts to sustain peace in the area, assured them that they would be carried along in government programmes and activities.

Earlier, Adeyemi Folarunsho, CAN Chairman, Toto LGA chapter said they came to show solidarity to the state government through SSG, and to also plead with the government to address the lack of Christian Religious Studies teachers in the local government. (NAN)
