Hon. Dogo Shammah, the former Commissioner for Information during the first tenure of Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, has resigned his membership from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Shammah’s resignation letter was addressed to the APC Ward Chairman of Gitta in Wamba Local Government Area of the state.
The letter, which was sent to Daily Newsbreakers and dated March 31, 2026, stated that his resignation takes immediate effect. He also appreciated the party for giving him the opportunity to serve under its platform.
“I hereby wish to resign my membership of the party with effect from March 31, 2026.
“I use this medium to appreciate the cordial relationship and the opportunity given to me by the party to serve in different capacities.
“Thank you and God bless,” the letter read.
Hon. Dogo Shammah, a veteran journalist-turned-politician, was a two-time chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nasarawa State Council, before his appointment by Governor Abdullahi Sule as Commissioner for Information in the state.
