
Forum of Former Speakers of the Plateau State House of Assembly has paid a solidarity visit to the state legislature following the emergence of Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel as Speaker, describing his ascension as a God-given task and expressed optimism in his leadership abilities.
During the visit at the State Assembly Complex on Friday in Jos, leader of the forum, Rt. Hon. Isa Chungwom Song, informed the Speaker and Assembly members that their visit was to congratulate, identify with, and express support for the new Speaker.
Statement by the Philip Eplong, Press Secretary to the Speaker, said the Forum urged Naanlong to represent Plateau’s interests, noting that he had made a good start. They also implored him to collaborate with the Executive for the state’s overall benefit.

In response, Speaker welcomed the former Presiding Officers and attributed his emergence to divine ordination, recalling his relationships with each of the former Speakers.
He emphasized the importance of intergovernmental synergy, with a unified goal of positively impacting citizens’ lives. The Speaker pledged his commitment to accelerating the state’s progress and development, appealing for cooperation.
He reaffirmed his support for the former Presiding Officers, acknowledging that leadership is transient and assuring them that he would tap into their experience to build a lasting legacy for Plateau’s unity and trust.
