Member representing Akwanga Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba in the house of representative, Hon. Jeremiah Umaru has promised the National Assembly commitment to step up their oversight function in ensuring that the recently created North Central Development Commission, NCDC.
The Lawmaker made this known while speaking to Newsmen at sidelines of the event in Lafia where the Emir of Lafia Justice Muhamad Bage 1, Confered on Senator Ahmed Wadada the tradtional title of Magajin Dangin Lafia Bare-Bari.
Jeremiah Umaru the deputy chairman house committee on account, was the Lawmaker who moved the motion for the creation of the North Central Development Commission at the House of the House of representative, said with the commission having been put in place, with the headquarters located in Lafia will provide job opportunities and other developmental projects to the State.
“This means that development as far as the commission is concern will begin in Nasarawa State, employment and appointments in the commission has begun, as a parliament we are saddled with the responsibility of monitoring their activities through oversight.” he said.
According to him, he has actively involved in doing so many things in the course of representing the people of Wamba, Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon in the House of representative, which includes sponsorship of bill, empowerment of people, building of schools, organised free medical outreaches.
“I have provided jobs, and many more to my constituents, donates electric transformer, provided solar lights, and everything that are indices of good governance” he added.
Speaking on honour bestowed on Senator Ahmed Wadada by the Emir, he said as a legislative colleague in the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly, “We came to support and honour senator Wadada for the honour done to him by the Emir of Lafia, and we believe that the honour is because of his contribution development of our State.”
Responding on his next political movement, he said he has spent two years and will want to concentrate on providing the dividends of good governance which is mostly needed by his constituents.
“We have spent two years one month in office, we have more time to work, so let still concentrate and focus on the four years mandate given to us, for now when we reach the bridge we will cross it.
The lawmakers who was in company of the Lawmakers, from the House of representative from Nasarawa State, wise Senator Wadada well while commending the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage 1 for his sterling leadership qualities.
