
Dr Hassan Ikrama, Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the Federal University of Lafia Teaching Hospital (FUTH), has inaugurated a state-of-the-art theatre at the annex of the facility to boost service delivery.
Speaking during the event on Wednesday at the annex located at the Millionaire Quarters Lafia, the CMD said the fully equipped theatre would begin operation immediately.
Ikrama added that surgeries, including Caesarean section for pregnant women, would now be carried out at the annex and not just in the main hospital.
He further emphasised that the initiative was part of the hospital’s efforts to upgrade its facilities and provide better healthcare services to its patients.
The pioneer Chief Medical Director of the teaching hospital had also inaugurated a remodeled labour room at the annex.
He assured patients that the hospital would deploy more Doctors to the annex and antenatal care would now be handled by specialized medical personnel for efficiency and optimal performance.
“We are focusing on better service delivery and reducing the patient waiting time as well as bringing specialized care closer to our patients.
“Patient satisfaction is the hospital’s priority under my leadership and will be our main pursuit,” Ikrama added. (NAN).
