……….. Hails Gov. Sule for sponsoring 50 indigene students at College of Nursing Sciences, Bichi in Kano State.

Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for sponsoring 50 students of the State to study in College of Nursing Sciences, Bichi, Kano State.
The House was also informed that the State Government has engaged the services of a consulting firm to conduct new recruitment exercise for over 3000 newly employed teachers in the State.
The development that the House advised the State Government to adopt a damage control mechanism in respect to the issue of the teachers engagement which the lawmakers said is generating serious tension in the State considering the plight of the citizens affected.
Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman, House Committee on Education gave the commendation when management team of the State Scholarship Board appeared before the committee for assessment of 2025 budget implementation in Lafia today.
Hon. Abel said that the government deserves commendation for sponsoring 50 indigene students of the State in the Kano health institution noting that the move will in a long run enhance the health sector of the State.
“His Excellency deserves commendation for sponsoring 50 indigene students to study in the school as this will reduce the burden of school fees on their parents and it will also add value to the health sector in the state” he said.
Hon. Abel also appreciated Gov Sule for prioritizing students welfare via scholarship in the state.
The Chairman commended the Executive Secretary of the board for doing well and called for its sustenance.
Earlier, Hajiya Sada’atu Yahaya, the Executive Secretary of the board appreciated the committee for supporting the activities of the board to succeed.
She also appreciated Gov. Sule for giving adequate attention to the welfare of students in the state.
The Executive Secretary disclosed that the state government is currently sponsoring 50 indigene students in Flagship College of Nursing Sciences Bichi, Kano State.
She also disclosed that presently the government has opened portal for students to apply for 2023/2024 scholarship.
In a related development, the management of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) led by its Chairman, Amb. Timothy Maikasuwa appeared before the committee for the commission’s 2025 budget implementation.
The Chairman disclosed that the state government has engaged a team of consulting firm to conduct a new recruitment exercise for over 3000 teachers employed last year.
He said that this is to ensure that only best teachers are employed and engaged to teach in the State.
“A new recruitment exercise is going to be conducted by a team of consulting firm and the will select the best ones” he said.
Maikasuwa appreciated the committee for the support the commission is enjoying from it and called for its sustenance.
On his part, Rt. Hon. Abel Yakubu Bala, the Chairman of the Committee advised the commission to adopt a damage control process while taking sensitive decision on issues affecting the commission especially in respect to the teachers engagement.
The Committee Chairman commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for giving attention to the education sector.
