The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the people of the state to remain peaceful, steadfast and committed to the unity of the state.
This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Francis Orogu, PDP Chairman in the state and made available to newsmen on Monday in Lafia.
Orogu said that the people should not crossover to 2024 with the bitterness, resentments and other negative tendencies that divides them.
“We are waiting for the judgment of the Supreme Court on the governorship dispute in the state, do not allow any body or statement to provoke us into going against the law.
“We must put behind us any action capable of breaching the peace and unity of the state and shun tendencies capable of dividing us along religious or ethnic lines.
“Residents owed it a duty to refrain from encouraging an ember of disunity, religious sentiments and embrace prayers to ensure that the state remain peaceful no matter what,” the PDP Chairman added.
He expressed confidence on the judiciary as the last hope of the common man to get justice.
Orogu therefore expressed confidence that the party would reclaim their mandate at the Supreme Court.
The PDP Chairman also commended the media, security agencies, civil societies and all those who stood to protect democracy in the state and the country. (NAN).
