100-days: Rep. Umaru empowers 321 constituents, donates Vehicles

Rep. Jeremiah Umaru (APC- Akwanga/Nasarawa Eggon/Wamba Federal Constituency) at the national assembly has empowered 321 constituents to commemorate his 100 days in office.

Speaking at the distribution exercise on Saturday in Akwanga Local Government Area (LGA) of Nasarawa State the member said the gesture was to appreciate the people for the mandate given him at the election.

The member listed the empowerment items to includes, 40 deep freezers, 30 sowing machines, 30 grinding machines, 100 cooking stove.

He also gave scholarship of N50, 000 each, to 101 students from the constituency studying at different tertiary institutions across the country.

He said that the beneficiaries of the scholarship were drown from all the polling units of the 35 electoral wards of the constituency.

He also donated 20 vehicles to his supporters cutting across all political parties because according to him, the time for politics is over and now is the time for governance.

He also donated another set of 300 KVA transformers to the three LGAs of the constituency.

Umaru added that recently he donated three 300 KVA transformers, installed 100 solar powered street lights and distributed fertiliser and sprayer to 100 farmers.

“I have designed a comprehensive blueprint to tackle the numerous challenges confronting the people of my constituency.

“I have a programme to tackle the electricity problem, empower the youths and women, empower farmers to ensure food security, promote sporting activities among others,” he added.

The law maker further said that he has also sponsored six bills which had already passed first reading and one motion at the green chamber to attract federal government presence to his constituency.

The member promised that by the grace of God he would give the constituency the best representation they deserved to justify their vote at the polls.

He therefore promised to operate an open door policy and carry the people of the area along irrespective of their ethnic, religious or political party affiliations.

Unvailing the items and inaugurating the scholarship scheme, Gov. Abdullahi Sule commended the member for making him, the constituency and the state proud.

Governor Sule also lauded the member for sponsoring six bills in just 100 days in office, adding that, “there is no way a member who is not serious to deliver will be able to sponsor such number of bills within the period under review.

Sule encouraged the member to sustain the performance and advised beneficiaries of the gesture to use them to better their lives and not to sale them.

In his goodwill message, Ahl. Aliyu Bello, Nasarawa State Chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) lauded the lawmaker for his performance in just 100 days.

He encouraged the lawmaker to sustain his performance, adding that his constituents would always be proud that they entrusted him with their mandate. (NAN).
