
The Minister of Women Affairs, Mrs. Pauline Tallen, Member representing Shendam, Mikang and Qua’anpan at the Federal House of Representatives, Alphonsus Koomsol and the Gubernatorial Candidate of the African Democratic Congress ADC in Plateau State, Solomon Nandy Chenden have lauded the peaceful conduct of the national elections in Plateau State.
They beared their minds yesterday while speaking with journalists on their assessment of the elections in the state.
In their separate remarks after casting their votes in their respective polling units they commended the electorates for their peaceful conduct at the polls which they described as the demonstration of the true Plateau spirit, and called on them to maintain same even as they await outcome of the elections.
Mrs. Pauline Tallen reminded the electorates that power comes from God, urging them to allow God’s will in choosing leaders for the country hence, they should be ready to accept the election results with clear minds.
On his part, Hon. Alphonsus Koomsol commended INEC for conducting a free and fair election, saying that the electorates appreciated the process which according to him contributed to the peaceful atmosphere.
“There is no any crisis, most especially in my polling unit, it has been peaceful since 8 o’clock that the process started. The people are anxious to vote, that is why you can see them waiting to cast their vote in an orderly manner.” He added.
Also, Solomon Nandy Chenden adjudged that the process is free, fair and without any security challenge. “I can say that the 2023 election is peaceful.
“Nigerians are tired, every Nigerian need change and the change that we all desire is here, you can see our parents, as old as they are, they are still on the queue, why because they need a change. We need a brand new Nigeria, we need a brand new Plateau State ” he added
The election went on smoothly in most areas across the state, despite the late commencement of the process in most polling units across the State that prolong the election process to late hours of the night.

Like the case in one of the polling units at Kerang, in Mangu local government area where a poor patriotic electorate, had to intervened by hiring and fueling a Generator to provide light to enable the voting process to continue in the night in order not to disenfranchise any voter at the polling unit.
Some electorates, Rabo Damos from Kwang Ward in Qua’anpan local government area and Racheal Pankyes from Kerang in Mangu local government area appreciated God for the opportunity to participate in the election and pray God to answer their prayers and give victory to the Candidates of their choice.
