
A Plateau female Historian has died at the age of 74 after a protracted illness.

Mrs. Nanwul Gutip, a history graduate of Ahmadu Bello University, who wrote the history of the Church of Christ in Nations, COCIN has been laid to rest with testimonies from friends and family on her faith in God even on sick bed.
Testifying at the funeral service held at the COCIN Headquarters Compound Church, husband of the deceased, Mr. Obadiah Kutan Gutip said she was his dictionary to the Bible. According to him they enjoyed their marriage of over 55 years and their children, though they are away from them.
The Senior Pastor of the Church, Rev. Dr. Sylvester Dachomo who performed the funeral rites said late Mrs. Nanwul was a strong willed and determined woman who had strong faith that she will be healed. He encouraged the family to put their trust in God who is their refuge and a present help in times of need.
Rev. Moses Chagumi the Preacher at the service in his sermon spoke on ‘the gains of death for a Christian’. Reading from Phillipians 1:21 said believers who died in Christ stand to gain a glorified body, better home, imperishable inheritance and a better fellowship. He called on Christians to live for God so as to have a glorious exit.
Hon. Diket Plang, other members of the family and friends in their various testimonies extol her virtues of love, humility, patience, sacrifice, faith and gentleness.

Late Mrs. Nanwul Gutip was born on 24th March, 1948 at Takkas. She named herself Nanwul when her parents failed to do so for fear of losing her which had been a continuous trend in the family. She died after a battle with sickness. She is survived by her husband, four children and ten grand children.
