Abubakar Hassan-Nalaraba, House of Representatives Member for Awe/Doma/Keana Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State, has flagged off the distribution of 13,000 25kg bags of rice to vulnerable people in the 13 Local Government Areas (LGAs) as part of Ramadan palliatives.
The House of Representatives Members flagged off the distribution on Sunday in Awe LGA of the state.
Speaking at the event, the Lawmaker said that the gesture was aimed at supporting the vulnerable in the Holy Month to enable them perform the spiritual exercise with ease.
Hassan-Nalaraba explained that he is extending the gesture to 1000 vulnerable people in each of the 13 LGAs of the state.

“I have been given palliatives of one trailer of rice and other food items to each of the three LGAs, Awe, Doma and Keana LGAs that make up my constituency since I was elected to the House of Representatives in 2019.
“I decided to extend the gesture to the entire state this time around to show support to the people and demonstrate how we will take care of their welfare if elected as governor in 2027,” he added.
He also called on the people to support the government and pray to God for intervention to enable the government to address security and other challenges confronting the country for the good of all the citizenry.
Also speaking, Mamman Alakayi, Director General (DG) of Hassan-Balarebe for the governor of the state in 2027, appreciated the member for the initiative to support this category of people.

He assured the people that Hassan-Balarebe would transform the different sectors of the state’s economy and position for the prosperity of the state and the people.
Rakiya Idris and Oshafu Adamu from Keana LGA who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, appreciated the Lawmaker for the gesture and called on spirited individuals to always cater for the poor to give them a sense of belonging.
The Lawmaker had also visited the palaces of traditional rulers in Awe, Keana, Doma and Obi LGAs and informed them about his programme and got royal blessings for the success of the exercise. (NAN).
