Ngas Paramount Ruler Commends Bishop Kwashi’s Service to God, Humanity

The Ngolong Ngas, His Majesty Nde Jika Golit, has lauded Benjamin Argak Kwashi for his outstanding service to God and humanity.

Wukaska Gowon, the Media Officer to the Ngolong Ngas in a statement said the royal father made the commendation during a courtesy visit to his palace by Bishop Kwashi and his American missionary partners, led by Quigg Lawrence.

He noted that Nde Golit describing Bishop Kwashi as a valuable asset to the Ngas nation, who has served as a bridge builder, linking Plateau State and Nigeria to other nations and attracting development to the country. 

He commended the missionaries for the trust and support they have shown the Bishop, noting that their relationship has strengthened ties between Nigeria and the United States.

The Ngolong Ngas encouraged Bishop Kwashi to continue his impactful work, describing his lifelong service as a model for younger generations. He also appreciated the missionaries’ respect for local culture and traditions, urging them to expand their support to enhance missionary work and improve the livelihood of the people.

Earlier in his remarks, Bishop Kwashi expressed deep appreciation to the Ngolong Ngas for the warm reception accorded to him and his partners from the United States of America. He explained that the visit was aimed at introducing his missionary partners to Nigeria and paying homage to the traditional ruler and the entire Ngas nation.

The Bishop highlighted the kindness of the missionaries, recalling how they supported him during his prolonged illness by covering his medical bills and accommodation abroad. He noted that their visit to Ngas land would further strengthen their bond with the community and assured that they would continue supporting the people in areas of need.

Speaking on behalf of the American delegation, Bishop Quigg Lawrence thanked the Ngolong Ngas for the warm reception and reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the relationship established through Bishop Kwashi. He praised the hospitality of the Ngas people and expressed readiness to deepen missionary and developmental programmes in the area.

As part of the visit, the Ngas Traditional Council presented the visiting Bishops with traditional Ngas attire as a symbol of unity and strengthened ties. The presentation was made by the District Head of Amper, His Highness Nde Kupshak Goma, who described the visit as significant in promoting mutual respect and cooperation.

The visit concluded with a tour of the new Ngolong Ngas Palace currently under construction. The Bishops commended government efforts on the project and offered prayers for its successful completion, as well as for peace and prosperity in the Ngas nation and Nigeria at large.
