The Secretary to the Nasarawa State Government, Dr Labaran Magaji, has distributed wrappers to more than 2,000 women and given Ramadan packages to 1,000 youths in Toto Local Government of the State.
Magaji performed the presentation in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to him, the gesture aligns with the spirit of Ramadan and is an act of worship, noting that it is part of the obligation given to him by God.
He explained that beneficiaries were carefully selected from across various groups in the 12 wards of the local government.
“What we are doing today is an obligation God has given to me, we are distributing Sallah wrappers to more than 2,000 women in Toto LGA.
We are also distributing Ramadan materials to 1,000 youths. And this has been the practise for more than 10 years, even before I became the Secretary to the government of Nasarawa State.
“So, it’s a normal gesture, it is an act of God, part of the worship and part of the attributes of this month of Ramadan. People should provide support to people who are really in dire need of some of those things,” he said.
Magaji, who is also the state Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, called on people of the state to sustain support for the administration of President Tinubu and Gov. Abdullahi Sule.
Also speaking, Pharm. Baba-Ahmed Yahaya, represented by Danlami Usman, Supervisory Councillor for Works, Housing and Transport, while thanking the SSG, called on the beneficiaries to replicate the gesture by supporting the Government.
Hajiya Mairo Usman, Special Adviser to the Chairman of Toto LGA and Ibrahim Lawal, Special Assistant to Gov Abdullahi Sule on Students Affairs, expressed appreciation to the SSG on behalf of the beneficiaries.
They reaffirmed their continued support for President Bola Tinubu and Gov Sule and loyalty to the SSG, and also to be tolerant and at peace with one another to attract more dividends of democracy.
Similarly, SSG met with the newly inaugurated executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 12 wards of Toto LGA and donated N6 million to enable them renovate APC offices in the 12 wards.
Magaji, while enjoining, the newly inaugurated party officials to be consistent and loyal to the leadership of the party in the state, called on stakeholders to support the party and officials at the grassroots to function effectively.
Also speaking, Alh. Salihu Fancy, Toto APC Chairman and Alh..Musa Ahege, APC Forum Chairman, both thanked the SSG for the gesture and promised to work together for the success of the party in the next general election. (NAN)
