The Federal University of Lafia (Fulafia), Nasarawa State, has matriculated students into the various departments of its Postgraduate programmes for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Speaking at the matriculation ceremony on Thursday in Lafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul-Rahaman, Vice Chancellor (VC) of the university, said that the students were matriculated for Postgraduate diploma, Master’s, and Doctorate Degrees in various disciplines.
The Vice Chancellor explained that the Postgraduate programmes of the institution had continued to run with high quality and standards since the institution started Postgraduate programmes.
Abdul-Rahaman explained that the students who had completed their postgraduate programmes at the university have excelled in different fields within and outside the country.
He pledged that the institution would continue to maintain high standards to ensure that the results of their research provide solutions to some of the problems confronting the country.
He noted that the university has been one of the major producers of high-quality human resources needed to propel development in the country.
“The College of Postgraduate Studies of our university has been living up to expectations since its inception.
“We have a range of activities from academic lectures, similar workshops, community service, and social events to make them excel and socialise and urged them to utilise them while at the institution.
“Pursuing Postgraduate programmes can be a daunting experience, but we are here to help you navigate through and develop your skills, talents as well as passions,” he added.
The VC also encouraged the students to always reach out to their peers, professors, and other staff where necessary and avoid things that would defeat their aims of securing admission for a Postgraduate programme.
The Vice Chancellor has also assured them of adequate security arrangements to protect students and staff and as well as facilities at the two campuses of the university.
He also said that the university management was working in collaboration with security agencies for prompt response to security challenges within and around the institution.
Abdul-Rahaman therefore, urged the students to report any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities in the institution for prompt action. (NAN).
