The Plateau State chapter of the opposition People’s Democratic Party PDP, has inaugurated a 224 man Advisory and Campaign Council for the Atiku/Mutfwang Presidential and Governorship campaign team ahead of the 2023 elections in the State.
Inaugurating the Council which has the State former Governor, Dara Jonah Jang as Chairman of the Advisory Council and Chief Latep Dabang as the Director General of the Campaign Council, the Party Governorship Candidate in Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang charged them to return home and take charge of mobilization from their base in addition to some specific assignments they may be given to deliver the party.
He stated that he will lead the PDP family on the Plateau as he has always done, to vigorously campaign for all candidates of the party from the Presidential to the State House of Assembly members.
“I expect every genuine Party faithful to join me because we shall run only one united campaign structure. We must eschew all divisive tendencies and unite under the tested symbol of the umbrella” he added
While admitting that there are some unresolved issues in the part, Mutfwang enjoin all in positions of responsibility to do the needful and sort them out speedily and prayed God to grant them humility to accept blame where necessary and the large heart to forgive and let go.
Earlier in a welcome address, State Chairman of the party, Chris Hassan said the day marked the day of taking over, and that they are putting all effort to occupy the Little Rayfield come 2023
He told the Council that they are carrying an assignment that God has given them to enthroned the next President and Governor of the state. He charged all party leaders and supporters to deliver their polling unit and ward, saying they are going to have local government, ward and polling units campaign council.
Chris Hassan promise to deliver 2 million votes to Atiku Abubakar come next year and that the election is going to be 5/5 winning, meaning from President, Senator, House of Representatives, Governor and State Assembly.
In his acceptance speech, the Director General of the Campaign Council, Chief Latep Dabang appreciated the confidence repose on them to carry the task of performing the funeral rite of the ruling APC.
Senator Jonah David Jang was represented at the inauguration by former Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe as Candidates seeking election under the party also attended.
