Plateau: Bokkos Indigenes Development Association get new Officials in Jos East

Bokkos Indigenes Development Association BIDA, has elected officials to pilot affairs of the Association in Jos East local government council of Plateau State.

The election was held at the Jos East  Local Government Council Chambers, Angware, as presided by the Electoral Committee Chairman, Mr. Ishaku Haruna Nji with the Committee Secretary, Christy Emmanuel Pwol.

In a post election speech, the out-gone Caretaker Committee Chairman, Philip Datukun, thanked all the members for the unusual backing given him and the caretaker committee. He solicited for same team spirit to be extended to the new Executive Council to succeed, while pledging to leave above board in justifying the confidence reposed on them. 

The election had the out-gone Caretaker Committee Chairman Comrade Philip Datukun elected as Chairman, Mr. Jonathan Elisha as Vice Chairman, while the position of Secretary General was clinched by Wilfred Damwan and Mrs Deborah Paul worn the position of Assistant Secretary, respectively.

Other positions such as Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Auditor and Discipline were occupied by Mrs Esther Ishaku Ambuka, Christopher Makwin, Evelyn Yakubu Tamai and Matur Mambayat in that order, while  Yusufu Haruna Magit was returned elected as the Public Relations Officer( PRO) and doubles as the Director Of Socials (DOS).

All the Offices contested for were unopposed. Mr Mankilik Matawal moved for the affirmation of all the candidates to be officials of the Assiciation and the house unanimously endorsed all of them through voice vote, while the ELCOM Chairman Ishaku Haruna Nji made an official pronouncement as duly elected Executive Council of Bokkos Indigenes Development Association, (BIDA) Jos East Chapter which spans for initial period of two years, from the date of Inauguration,  October 2022  to October 2024.

The ELCOM Chairman, Ishaku Haruna Nji thereafter inaugurated the officials where he expressed appreciation to the out-gone caretaker Committee, those who contested and the entire BIDA members for the unity of purpose and support accorded the ELCOM to enable them achieved the feat. He equally called on members to rally round the new Executive Council to move the Association forward.

In meantime, the new BIDA Executive Council had it’s maiden briefing with the Chairman, Philip Datukun, tasking them to be prompt to their obligation as civil servants, vis- a- vis the added responsibility of championing the cause of the Association.

After a long deliberation on measures to move the Association to enviable heights, the Executive Council appointed a five member end of year dinner committee to include, Tajan Iliya, Rachel Jibrailu, Evelyn Tamai and Christy Pwol with Yusufu Magit, the Director of Socials to serve as it’s Chairman.

The Executive Council therefore, fixed Thursday, 27th October, 2022 as Inaugural/ meeting with the end of year dinner committee, at the Local Government Council Chambers, Angware.
