The Executive Chairman of Toro Local Government, Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, has hosted a delegation of journalists from Bauchi State on an official inspection visit to Toro.
The delegation was led by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, accompanied by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Comrade Muktar Gidado, senior officials, and media practitioners.
The visit was aimed at assessing completed and ongoing projects executed by the Executive Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Kauran Bauchi, within Toro Local Government Area. It also formed part of the state government’s policy of promoting transparency, accountability, and public awareness on developmental initiatives.
As part of the exercise, the delegation paid courtesy visits to the District Heads of Toro, Lame, and Jama’a, who warmly received them and commended the Governor’s developmental strides. The traditional leaders pledged their continued cooperation to sustain peace and progress across the area.
The inspection covered key projects including Road Infrastructure: Rehabilitation and construction of township and inter-community roads such as Magama–Gumau, Rishi–Tulu, Geljaule–Lame, Rimin Zayam–Dass, and Nabordo township roads.
Healthcare Development: Upgrading of the General Hospital, Toro, and construction of a new General Hospital in Gumau, Renovation and expansion of primary and secondary schools and Rehabilitation of District Head palaces to strengthen grassroots governance and ongoing projects in water supply, rural electrification, and provision of social amenities.
Addressing journalists, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, reaffirmed that the inspection was in line with government’s policy to keep citizens informed about people-oriented projects. He stressed that Governor Bala Mohammed remains committed to delivering the dividends of democracy across all local government areas.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Toro Local Government, Pharmacist Ibrahim Abubakar Dembo, expressed gratitude to the Governor for prioritizing Toro in the state’s development agenda. He noted that the projects would not only improve socio-economic wellbeing but also lay the foundation for sustainable growth. He further appreciated the visiting delegation for their role in amplifying government achievements.
The visit highlights the determination of the Bauchi State Government to bridge development gaps, foster inclusiveness, and uplift the living standards of all citizens.
