Plateau State Chapter of the African Democratic Congress ADC, has inaugurated a 21-member Committee to unveil the party in the state in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking while inaugurating members of the Committee at the Bridge Ville Hotel Jos, Amb. Hanatu Gagara, the Plateau State Chairman of the ADC, described the event as historic and a significant step forward.
She stated that the ADC as a platform, stood for inclusiveness, dialogue, and coalition-building as a strategy to unite all progressive forces for the common good of the people.
The ADC Chairman added that the inauguration of the committee was not merely a ceremonial exercise but a call to service, sacrifice, and collective action, stressing that members of the committee were carefully selected to reflect the diversity, competence, and commitment needed to restore public confidence in the 20-point agenda earlier presented, noting that the exercise marked a new chapter in the political history of Plateau State.
“Your mandate is clearly stated in your appointment letters. One of your key tasks is to mobilize stakeholders and grassroots members in preparation for the major event ahead.
“I charge each of you to approach this assignment with integrity, diligence, and a deep sense of responsibility.
“Let your work be visible within the shortest possible time. This is a service to humanity, a service to our dear Plateau State, and a contribution to national development”, Amb. Hanatu Gagara said.

In his acceptance speech and response on behalf of other members, Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Yompee Jalmet thanked the State Chairman for finding them worthy for the assignment and promised to give his best.
“Allow me to take this opportunity to thank our amiable Chairman, Ambassador Hanatu Gagara, elders and stakeholders of this great Coalition, most sincerely for showing your confidence in me by entrusting me with the onerous but honourable and noble task of taking the lead in unveiling this great party in Plateau State.
“I appeal to my fellow members of this Committee to make the requisite sacrifices to position this party in the state as a credible alternative for 2027, and I have no doubt in my mind that this coalition is on its way to winning all elections in Nigeria come 2027, starting with the Presidential election”.
The Committee Chairman further passed a vote of confidence on the State Chairman of the ADC for her commitment, resilience and the manner she had coordinated the activities of the party in the state which he said is hinged on transparency and accountability.
There were goodwill messages from leaders and critical stakeholders of the party including former Gubernatorial candidate in the 2015 governorship election in Plateau state, His Excellency, Ambassador, Sabiu Musa Ibrahim.
