FG to Streamline Regulatory Oversight, Reduce Inefficiencies in Nigeria’s Regulatory Landscape

Inorder to serve the purpose in which regulatory agencies were established, the Federal Government said repositioning it to effectively oil the wheel of governance for the benefit of Nigerians, as well as being at par with global best practices.

In the light of that, a national conference and workshop on “Regulating for Global Standards and Best Practices”will take place from August 28 to 29, 2025, at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, Kubwa, Abuja.

In a press statement sent to journalist by the Programme Coordinator, Sir T. Willie Tawo, the event is tailored towards making Nigeria’s regulatory bodies to be at par with global best practices in line with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The release has it that, the workshop will look at the factors militating against regulatory institutions, such as duplication of jurisdictions, regulatory conflicts, divergent enforcement strategies, and weaknesses in legal and institutional frameworks, so as to develop a workable strategies for strengthening regulatory institutions for improved service delivery and governance outcomes.

The event, organized by Allied Bond Consulting in collaboration with PIFS Conferences and Seminars, will have the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Dr. George Akume, as the Special Guest of Honour and will deliver the keynote address at the opening ceremony.

The workshop is designed for senior officials of regulatory bodies, such as Heads and Directors responsible for Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, Legal Matters, Standards, and Service Delivery (Servicom).
