
The newly deployed Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria, Kaduna, Mallam Haruna Idris, has formally assumed duty with a charge on the staff to embrace new ideas that will reinvigorate the station for economic empowerment of Northern Nigeria and the promotion of national unity.
Mallam Idris stated this at the handover ceremony held at the Kaduna Zonal Headquarters of Radio Nigeria.
The event was attended by principal officers of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) from the North Central Zonal Station including Deputy Director Administration Mallam Nma Ibrahim, General Manager Precious FM Alhaji Ibrahim Abimiku, that of Harvest FM Shimataver Aondoakaa, Head of Engineering Mr. Alex Orinya, Head of marketing Mallam Usman Shehu Adamu, Head of New Media Mrs Tina Francis and other staff members who accompanied Mallam Idris to Kaduna.

In an address, Mallam Idris described his redeployment to Kaduna as a surprise, however pointing out as a greater call to service in line with the Renewed Hope agenda of the Federal Government. He pledged commitment to fostering the motto of the corporation and enhancing the role of Radio Nigeria Kaduna as a unifying voice for the region.
Describing the station as “the heartbeat of the North,” Idris stressed the need for unity, collective problem-solving, and prioritising the needs of the people in service delivery.
“I see my redeployment to Radio Nigeria Kaduna as a greater call for hard work, dedication and above all, sacrifice for the growth and development of our dear country, Nigeria.
I come here with a clean heart. Kaduna is a familiar terrain for me; I did my secondary school here. I do not have a personal interest in any individual staff member. All that I need is your cooperation to identify the challenges and tackle them accordingly. There is no perfect system, but we shall do our best to improve the station to serve the people better,” Haruna Idris stated.
In his handing-over remarks, the outgoing Zonal Director of Radio Nigeria Kaduna, Mallam Buhari Auwalu, described Idris’s redeployment as the beginning of a new phase for the zone given his wealth of experience.
The highlight of the ceremony was an inspection of the various sections and facilities of the station by the new Zonal Director. (Radio Nigeria)
